| Jacqueline Davenport
Barberis was born in New York City and raised
in the United States. She has dual citizenship.
Her mother, Fanny Barberis Romero, was born and
raised in Quito, Ecuador.
As a child, she moved to Quito, Ecuador, and there
began to learn Spanish.
When she returned to New York City a few years
later, she then began to learn English.
Although she considers English to be her first
language, she is fluent in Spanish as well.
She is the author of two distinct courses: Español
Conversacional and Conversational English. Each
de-emphasizes grammar and stresses conversational
and business language.
The courses are designed for adults and can be
utilized by beginners as well as those who merely
need to improve their bilingual skills.
Over the past 25 years, she has taught both Spanish
and English in the United States, Mexico, Puerto
Rico, Taiwan, Costa Rica and Ecuador.
Cumbaya, Ecuador (East of Quito), is now her permanent home.
